Hello, I’m Claire. I'm a qualified and experienced counsellor and am a registered member of the BACP. I provide a safe, non-judgemental and respectful space in which I listen openly to anything you need to talk about. We can explore current or historical issues, at a pace that suits you, and work towards achieving an improved quality of life

My profile

As an experienced and person-centred counsellor, I will build a trusting, empathetic and
compassionate therapeutic relationship with you. I respect and value everyone’s individuality and so will tailor therapy to suit your needs and allow you the space to make your own decisions. My goal is to help you in gaining a better understanding of yourself and your experiences of the world around you.
Counselling is helpful for many different life experiences, including traumatic events, feeling
frustrated or stuck, the sense that something is ‘wrong’ or when you are at a crossroads.
I adhere to the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), of which I am a registered member, and receive regular supervision. These both ensure that I am always practising professionally and offering you the best service that I can.
As well as working with adults, I also work with children and adolescents, having gained much experience from over 20 years employed in education. I have also been an Honorary Staff Counsellor within the NHS as well as a volunteer counsellor with Young Devon, offering counselling to young people between 12 to 25 years of age.
My work at present includes giving therapeutic support to GamCare clients, who are seeking to overcome gambling addiction, as well as providing face-to-face counselling through Pro-Counselling.
I have travelled widely, both nationally and internationally, as well as having lived and worked in Botswana and New Zealand. In addition to this, I have been employed in a multi-cultural school and work with international clients.
